Academic Time Management Among Turkish Students

Hello guys, It's me, Arif Mert Kapıcıoğlu (AMK). What'up dudes?

Based on the conversation between me, Mete, Salih and Sonja, I've decided to discuss how Turkish students both succeed at accomplishing every task at the last minute and at the same time spending time mostly unrelated to the tasks. I hope it'll be a legendary source for Sonja to figure out how our minds work.

  1. Probably, many students have begun to deal with the sps draft, with an optimistic point of view, three days prior to deadline. Why? It's all about time management of course. Admitting the deadline weeks ago causes tendency to delay the work. That doesn't mean it's wrong to announce; but it's how we deal with it. Knowing the exact date of a deadline weeks ago causes mental pressure and generally delay is chosen as a solution to remove the pressure. That's one of the reasons for the last minute rush i guess.

  2. Really Mete? Can you provide evidence to the contrary? :)

  3. Of course there are ones with good time management but I'm sure they're disrupted, at least once, by unexpected invitations such as birthday parties, dinner or mostly Starbucks coffee where minutes become hours and satisfaction is raised by opposite-sex existence.

  4. Yes Sonja, I know many people who do their work on time, for example me, myself and I.

Mert ,opposite-sex existence is everywhere right? Even when you're explaining the time management issue.

  5. Mete,
we all know that you do your work on the time but you should not say it like that.
    please do not be arrogant.:)))

I am also lack of ability to manage the time. Especially after I came to Sabanci I do assignments on the last minute because there are other things I had to do.
